About the Electoral Commission
The Electoral Commission is mandated under the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, 1995 (as amended), to organise, conduct and supervise on a regular basis free, fair and transparent elections and referenda. The Electoral Commission is currently implementing the 2025/2026 General Elections Roadmap, which includes conducting elections of Committees for Special Interest Groups (SIGs), namely, the Youth, Persons with Disability and Older Persons.
In preparation for the election of the above SIGs Committees, the Electoral Commission will conduct the display of the Voters Register for SIGs at each village throughout the country for a period of twelve (12) days from 17th April 2025 to 28th April 2025.
During this Display exercise, registered voters will be able to check for the correctness of their particulars (names, photograph and voting location) on the respective SIGs Register. Persons who are not eligible to vote as SIGs will be identified and recommended for removal from the SIGs Register.
For purposes of conducting this Display, the Electoral Commission will recruit one Display Officer/SIGs for each Village who will carry out the following duties:
- Display the Registers for Special Interest Groups (SIGs);
- Fill in the relevant forms for Objection of Inclusion or Omission of a voter from the SIGs Register;
- Guide voters through the display process;
- Confirm the accuracy of voter information by re-checking the information in the SIGs registers;
- Deliver display materials to the Parish Election Officers;
- Ensure that display kit is kept safe at all times; and,
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Parish and/or Sub County Supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
A person applying for the position of a Display Officer/SIGs should hold a minimum of Ordinary Level (O’ Level) Certificate, must have a good handwriting, be able to fill forms accurately and pay attention to detail. Previous experience as a Display Officer or having worked in any similar election-related activities shall be an added advantage.
All successful applicants shall be expected to exhibit high degree of discipline and excellent people skills that reflect a good image of the Electoral Commission. Successful applicants should be ready to take on the assignment by Tuesday 15th April 2025.

The completed application form accompanied by a photocopy of the applicant’s National ID and a photocopy of the ‘O’ Level Certificate should be delivered to the Office of the Returning Officer/District Election Administrator, Electoral Commission, for each respective district office no later than 9th April 2025
